Email Marketing: What works, What doesn’t and Why

Hello guys,

Last week, we learned a simple truth that goes against the common fallacy that email is dead, we came to this conclusion based on hard facts. With this conviction in mind, it would only be wise to improve our email marketing strategy and take advantage of our new found knowledge. Based on this, let us take a look at how we can do just that; improve our email marketing strategy in order to build a great client list and achieve better results.

In the end, email marketing all boils down to the email itself, how it is constructed and structured will determine its success. So, how do you structure your email properly to achieve great results?

  1. Adopt the friendly approach: First and foremost, you should apply a friendly approach to your emails. People tend to put a lot of emphasis on first impressions, there is a reason for this, your introduction is very crucial. You should come from the angle of a friend. Avoid overly serious introductions and stick to friendly gestures.
  1. Tell bedtime stories 🙂 There is a reason kids love bedtime stories, I know you’re probably thinking; “Geez! My clients aren’t kids!” Even so, adults still have that inner child inside them. You can tap into their inner child and get them invested using a well-told story. If you can, inject a nice story people can relate to into your emails, it would go a long way in forging emotional bonds with your clients.
  1. Email once per day: I know you want to market your product to your clients, but the truth is no one wants to be bombarded with a plethora of emails. Don’t lose potential clients by being greedy. Provide unique content; allow your clients to look forward to your next email. Remember: Less is more…
  1. Follow up, follow up! This should be the most crucial step to email marketing success; ignoring the follow-up series is tantamount to wasting your time. Get a good email client and set up a great follow-up series, more on this in our video   courses. Go check them out.

You will be surprised at the results you will get if you can just implement these few tips discussed here. Remember guys, this is just the tip of the iceberg, there’s a whole bunch of secret email marketing strategies in our video courses, be sure to check them out.

Do you recommend to ship all by express if i am just starting?

Claudia says at 07:39 et
No, it would be too expensive. I suggest that you follow 20-80 rule. 20% by air express to get stuff fast for FBA launch and rest by sea freight (slower but cheaper). When your sales pick up, the sea shipment will arrive to Amazon

Why to go Shopify and not WooCommerce??

Shopify Is Easier to Use, it's a turn-key solution. (hosting, ssl etc all included) + great app store to boost your sales.
WooCommerce is free opensource plugin and working with Wordpress which means you have to install and confirgure everything yourself, buy hosting, ssl separately too so there is no real saving just more headaches.
Go for shopify and jump straight into selling rather than micromanagement tech parts with WooCommerce..

WooCommerce looks like saving but in reality you have tons of hidden costs like domain, ssl and tons of extra hassles... Why not go easy with Shopify!

guys, how do you prevent long term storage fees for things that sell slow?

2
Claudia says at 21:12 et
Several options.. Liquidate It, Ship it back to you, Have Amazon Destroy it
go to INVENTORY > INVENTORY PLANNING , then INVENTORY AGE link. You'll see which products are coming up for the 6 month or 12 month long term storage fees. Just make sure nothing stays over 365+ days.

What do I do about state taxes? What's nexus?

50.0000
 jo says at 21:15 et
You are responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax to a jurisdiction if you have established substantial presence in the state of delivery. Once established, you have created nexus. The threshold for this presence differs from state to state and a company’s presence in each state should be examined to determine if nexus has been established or not. A company clearly has nexus if there is a business location in the state/jurisdiction. Once you establish nexus, you are required to register as a retailer with each state before collecting sales tax for that state. hire copyright lawyer to do a quick research. Check trademarkia.com also google your keyword and see who might be selling related to it and close to it, what domains are free etc.

I had over eight merchant providers turn me down. For example, when you think hemp--you think...marijuana. Providers said no,no,no....Hemp is illegal, which it is not! And search Aliexpress for hemp clothing and what do you get, marijuana paraphernalia--not 100% hemp products! Hemp is just another tag for broadcloth. What I do not get is I have seen things like marijuana seed sites with a shopify or Paypal logo on their site? But.. I was denied by both of them for trying to sell anything that could be misconstrued as for marijuana..like vaporizers listed under Aromatherapy. Are not marijuana seeds sold for the purpose of growing an illegal plant in most states/provinces? Why the hypocrisy with merchant providers?

You see, every provider wants to stay safe. If you are new and coming with a first product and start with something on the "edge" like marijuana-related stuff you might have trouble for sure. Start with safer products, get approved easily, then get some volume going and only when you are a trusted seller add more edgy products. Hope this helps

Hi to all, I'm new here. I was thinking about starting an action figure store, but I don't think items from Aliexpress are original. Is it a problem for collectors?
Thanks so much.

I see pretty big choice for action figures on aliexpress. but you need to decide for whom are you selling? if you are selling 10-15 usd action figure for kids they dont care if they are "original or not". if you sell memorabilia for collectors then you can charge premium and drop ship from other marketplaces as well.

Alessandro you can even dropship from ebay and amazon as well for your store. I see the prices start from 5-15 usd for basic action figures toys and 50-100 for "high end" more quality figures

HOW DO I manage customer returns?

3
Claudia says at 04:49 et
Ricardo, in case of FBA then Amazon will handle everything (returns, refunds). In case of drop shipping, I suggest to buy a virtual forwarding address in USA where customers can send returns and it forwards it to you later.

Thanks Claudia! , I am starting with dropshipping aliexpress and shopify. My store is about Rock Music (t-shirts and accesories) I have a fan page with +3 Million fans (fb.com/elrockescultura.org) but they are almost everyone from MEXICO, so epacket here it does not work so well, I tested posting one product, (without ads, pixel, autoresponder, analytics, chatbots, retargeting, etc) and we sold 20 items in 3 days, but 15 from Mexico. So what idea do you know around how can I will manage returns?? thank you!

Tshirts you can ship using tspring or t-launch app for shopify or even Merch if you use amazon. you dont need to ship tshirts from china.
I suggest to post your store for critics and we all can post more suggestions. It's hard to suggest blindly.

I used the Amazon best seller finder for a keyword. All the results sound encouraging. But I am confused with one of the messages, "Reviews: top 10 sellers have average 3757 reviews (At least 2 of 10 have 50 reviews or less. Recommended <150 reviews average)"
Does this indicate it's worthwhile? It says 3757, and recommended is less than 150. I am unable to interpret as the other results are great. Please help(and explain what they mean)!

It means they have many reviews probably so it's a very popular niche most likely. If the all other numbers sound good i would not be concerned. I think you mentioned you sell oils? so maybe instead of general oils try more specific like "facial oils" or "massage oils" or "lavanda oils" so it's more nichey

That's great. If the reviews are too less and the other numbers are right what's the course of action? Just curious.

Thank you for your suggestion on making the niche specific- very helpful!

Cheers.

Dont worry about reviews so much, it's becoming less important after last year Amazon's review policy update.

Hi,
I have finished watching the video about "incorporation and taxes" but I'm lost. If I understood correctly the suggested way to open a seller central account is as a professional.
-What do I need to open a professional account?
-Do I need a LLC? bank account? address??
Can someone explain ---> my situation will be "Rest of the world selling in the US"
Thank you!

You need an LLC, Bank account and a credit card. Yes your company does not have to be from USA even if you plan to sell in USA
