Is it too late to get into business?

Hello guys,

I saw this question which was asked by a user of the WALL. He was wondering if it was too late to get into this e-commerce business. This fear of being late in starting a business isn’t an isolated feeling, a lot of people often face this same fear. When that little voice in your head goes into overdrive and starts asking; what if I’m too late? Isn’t this business for younger people? There is already huge competition; the market is saturated… blah, blah, blah…

This type of fear of being late arises from the fear of competition or the fear of being too old to venture into business.  When we look at entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg, it appears that in today’s world, it is only the young entrepreneurs that are celebrated and recognized, this can be very discouraging. Cheer up! 🙂 I’m here to tell you that age doesn’t determine the success of your business. Research has shown that people over 55 years are twice likely to succeed in business than their counterparts who are under 35. Age comes with a ton of valuable experiences in life which would be useful to your business both directly and indirectly.  The great Roman leader Julius Caesar once said, “Experience teaches all things.” So, if age is what is bothering you, dust your boots and head right into the game, it is time to get started, the odds are in your FAVOUR!

Next up is the fear of competition; in one of my post, I talked about how competition can be used as a tool for success. The way you can beat the fear of competition is to change the way you see competition; your perception here matters a lot. Do you see competition as an opportunity? Or do you see it as an enemy? Your answer would determine your disposition towards competition; whether it will be a tool for success or something to be feared. One thing to note is you shouldn’t obsess over competition; you will end up giving away your power, energy, and creativity over to things you cannot control. This would only lead to unnecessary distractions and stunted growth, the bottom line is; you won’t achieve much with this mindset.

Over at, our video courses will teach you how to approach competition from a position of strength and not weakness; you will be exposed to tools and hacks on how you can monitor your competition, learn what they’re doing right and avoid their mistakes.

You mustn’t allow anything to stop you from starting today. Don’t let that little voice in your head crush you before you even begin. SUCCESS is RIPE for the taking! There is no time like NOW

P.S: I will tackle his second question on how to find the right product in a future post.

So stay tuned!

hi claudia.. so iam starting with FBA.Please explain more what are the common providers for air and sea shipment (like UPS, Fedex etc)? Which do door-to-door? Which are more reliable for FBA?
 Claudia says at 07:39 et
hi Cyril. Great question..

Actually, there are three ways, by air, by express & by sea.

By air:
1. shipped by major airlines, such as Air China, Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Thai Airways, Malaysia airlines, Northwest Airlines etc.
2. the goods will be shipped to airport and the client needs to do the customs clearance and pick up the goods by himself.

By express:
1. shipped by UPS, Fedex, EMS, TNT & DHL.
2. the goods will be shipped to the client's destination (door to door, such as Amazon warehouse). The express company will do the customs clearance.

By sea:
shipped by shipping company, such as Ma Shiji, COSCO, NYK, Kawasaki, Hanjin, United Arab Emirates, Sinotrans and so on.
Also can do Door to Door service.

How do you guys handle delays related to Chinese New Years etc?
 Emili says at 21:08 et
You can say the product is out of stock due to "high demand", "custom printing", "warehouse relocation". And then instead use Pre-order now and get special early bird discount price...

Hi, is that a must to set up a credit card payment gateway. Can I just use paypal payment gateway only?
 Mike says at 03:39 et
Yes you can use just Paypal but it's always better to give more payment options.

I try to apply for 2checkout for my country, but without 90 days worth of sales history, they cannot move forward in the review process.
I may find Upwork to help for the sales history.
