Information Overload: The Bane of the Modern Entrepreneur

Hello guys,

I’m going to be quite frank with you, getting into any business (not just e-commerce) would require knowing so much, having a strong idea of the kind of business you are getting into and all its technicalities is a must. However, in this process of accumulating the necessary information about your intended business, one can get stuck in the learning phase and not really end up doing anything.

This is the demerit of a world run by information – information overload. It is something that happens to nearly every entrepreneur. You just have to reach that point and tell yourself that it’s now or never. What most entrepreneurs fail to recognize is that the opportunity to learn will never end. We are humans, and there is always something new, some new strategy or technique, some new app or tool, something new will always come up and that is the beauty of business. You can never truly stop learning, so why not start now and learn on the job?

This addiction to information is only masking something else; the fear of Failing. Failing doesn’t make you a failure; you only become a failure if you chose to believe you are one. The experience of failing should be seen as nothing more than an experience, not something that dictates the destiny of your business. Remember the aphorism which says that “experience is the best teacher?” well… this should be how you treat experiences, as a teacher. So, if you crash, pick yourself up, learn from your mistakes and keep going.

We recognize the important role that support, motivation and encouragement plays in improving your chances of success, this is why we created a community of sellers and e-commerce business men and women. The Sells Like Hot Cake’s Wall. Here you can meet like-minded individuals who are ready to assist and offer advice and tips to help you achieve your business goals!

To prevent yourself from being overwhelmed by information, you need to ensure you have a great system for collecting, organizing and sorting the business information you receive. The truth is, you may not be able to apply all the tips and tricks at the same time, but it is better to start somewhere rather than not starting at all.

Another important thing you can do is to filter the information coming in; which one is good, which one is bad, which is most useful right now, which is better saved for later. Prioritizing information like this is necessary, if you don’t do this, you will eventually find yourself drowning in an ocean of data!

The most important advice of all is to remain focused on your goals. If you can have a focus and stick to it, you will be able to brush away anything that isn’t congruent with what you aim to achieve, with a clear focus, the process of organizing and sorting comes easy!

Information overload is the reason schools have  a curriculum and break the learning process into bits. We have decided to embrace this pattern, so that you can efficiently learn everything you need to know about succeeding on Amazon and Shopify. You can check out our courses on Amazon and Shopify, judiciously broken down into sub topics aimed at guiding you at every step until you reach an income $45,000 per month!!

You can check out our Udemy courses right here.

Remain focused! I wish you success!

hi guys.. Can I get BAD product reviews deleted off my products page?

13
Claudia says at 21:25 et
It's very rare to get bad review removed.. Usually it's better to prevent them like we teach in the course.. see video about negative feedback removal.. Also read https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=12177361
Also dont over sweat about bad reviews, it's natural for any good product to have 1-2 one-star reviews, nobody is perfect and your customer don't expect just 5 start reviews, it might even look suspicious and fake.

They are pretty good, you must understand that real numbers only amazon knows, all the tools can use the estimates based on the BSR approximation!

After you import the products, you can simply edit them from Shopify itself (in the PRODUCTS section) and there you can update description, set collection etc. Also if you think it's a bug, reach Oberlo support, they are very helpful!

What is the best thing to do if you are out of stock, close the listing or let it run? how about the metrics are they going to drop?

 Ted says at 08:52 et
Are you talking about amazon or shopify? On shopify it will say "Sold out" which is pretty cool for building urgency for other items.
On Amazon if you have no stock your listing is not displayed. You dont need to "close" it. Some people like to rise the prices before you run out of stock. The metrics will go down unfortunately. You need to plan your inventory better.
