Truth is, it was not your customer on the first place. If the person savy enough to know about dropshipping and aliexpress method then he was not your customer in the first place. No point to worry about it. It's like worry about online pirates. People who always download cracked software are not your customers anyways, don't worry about them.
Target people who are not aware of dropshipping methods and you will be just fine! 99.9% of people will never bother finding alternatives and going to aliexpress is the last thing on their mind. They might go Amazon in worst place but never aliexpress..
If they go Amazon, again, they were not your customer so don't worry about them. Some people tend do buy exclusively on Amazon Prime for example.

Another tip... if you offer some sort of exclusivity or special deal then people wont be looking much for alternatives.
I have many people ordering Dog Frisbi for example and wait 2-4 weeks just fine when they could buy it cheaper probably on amazon and get in 1 day using prime. There is room for everyone here and a huge marketplace!

Great question Liam!

1. if the product is very cheap it's easier to just refund, absorb the cost and don't ask the customer to ship anything and wasting time with it.
2. if the item is very expensive them ask them to ship to virtual office address (which should have package forwarding features) that will redirect later the item to your dropshipper for replacement or refund.
3. monitor the quality and complains and switch dropshipper with high returns/refunds.

You are responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax to a jurisdiction if you have established substantial presence in the state of delivery. Once established, you have created nexus. The threshold for this presence differs from state to state and a company’s presence in each state should be examined to determine if nexus has been established or not. A company clearly has nexus if there is a business location in the state/jurisdiction. Once you establish nexus, you are required to register as a retailer with each state before collecting sales tax for that state. Yes you can + inside your insert card too. You cant put links only in communication to the amazon customers via amazon email system.

It's Importer Security Filing.. As the importer, you are required to file some basic information before the cargo departs overseas and arrives in the US. Your freight forwarder will always taken care of this but double check always!

Check with your supplier to see if they have product liability in placement for you first as a customer, as most do.

He means product liablity probably... If you have a professional account you have to have insurance. Under ATO all Pro accounts must have $1 mill liability insurance. Its pretty straight forward. Also If you sell $10k for 3 consecutive months on your "Individual account" you have to provide insurance. Check Amazon TOS!

It's hard to say without knowing your product, location or shipping costs how much you should charge. Best tip here is see what competitor is charging so you will get a rough idea. Maybe $19.95 for a Tshirt or $9.95 for a Mug

I don't see a need to limit the amount of "free+shipping item" as long as you are making profits and have good margins
